Hmmmm. Letting a young, talented RFA walk for draft picks doesn't seem the type of move you'd make if you were planning on having Dwight Howard/Brook Lopez/Andrew Bynum at center and trying to be competitive over the next year or two.

They're making room for our 900 PFs!

I wish him the best of luck on the bench. He will be a fouling machine because he stands no chance against average centers.

I gotta say, I'm not the biggest Ryan Anderson fan. He's a nice player, but he sure has his limitations. Also has never showed up in the playoffs. Will be interesting to see how much money he'll command.

Not sure how I feel about a Davis, Anderson frontcourt. Davis isn't a low post force by any means and Anderson basically does nothing but shoot threes. Maybe the plan is to give Davis more space to develop, but still.

Really like this trade for the Magic.

    No.

Aminu sucks. They waived Lewis. Rivers might have PG height, but he doesn't pass, ever. Davis will be awesome, but he'll get pushed around by the bigger centers for now. Anderson is just a guy. Gordon is nice, but injury prone.

    4 years 36 mil.

    Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
The New Orleans Hornets agreement with Ryan Anderson is four years, approximately $36 million, league sources tell Y! Sports.

$36 million for 4 years? Lmao. And people say Asik would be overpaid.

Not an unreasonable contract. That tells me Magic have little interest in "pretty good" veterans on big deals (Lopez, Humphries) merely to keep them afloat.

Not unreasonable but for what Anderson is it's not a good deal. The Hornets need to meet the minimum salary base so I suspect that's why they overpaid.

For a young PF that averaged 16/8 and had a PER of 21+, it's not too bad. I wouldn't want the Rockets to give Anderson that contract, but I think it's roughly market value.

Either way, though, the bigger takeaway is it shows the Magic value cap space and aren't crazy about giving big contracts to non-elite veterans. Bad sign for deals centered around Lopez/Humphries, Horford/Teague, etc.

That is a totally stupid contract. Totally stupid.

ON another note, looks like Davis is playing Center. Told you so.

I don't see him putting up those types numbers with the hornets. 9 million a year for a stretch forward that isn't athletic is way too much.

Davis playing center is fine. But playing center next to Ryan Anderson? Good luck with that.

This is when PER in my opinion is almost useless. Watch the guy play.....he isn't very good.
