After 18 games played for Darussafaka Cooper Tires in the Turkish league,
his 11.94 PPG makes him the third-highest scorer on his team and puts him
around #30 in the league. He's also averaging 5.89 RPG and 1.22 APG. More importantly, he's hitting just under 49% of his 3-pointers (but only
42% of his 2-pointers). Still, sounds like he needs another year or two of seasoning before he's even
ready to contend for an end-of-the-bench spot.
It would be interesting to see if NBA teams will ever consider affiliations with European teams like soccer. It would seem like an NBA caliber player (anyone who is drafted) like Leunen could find a better European team than a Turkish team named the Tires. If the Colorado Rapids can secure an affiliation with Arsenal, why couldn't the Rockets do something with Olympiacos?
