Also, with one of the few question marks of Doncic - consistent long range shooting.

Oh god and I forgot about Dirk's shooting coach, Holger. The kid has all the tools/help he'll need to be successful.

Cuban may of just gotten another Euro Superstar.

There's no way that he is a bust.
He may not become a superstar or even a star but at the very least his floor is a good roleplayer. Because he already is better than most roleplayers in the league right now.

If him not becoming an All-Star is busting, then that's definitely possible. But at the very least he'll be a very legit role player. He's already better than guys like Joe Ingles.

He's not athletic nor a great shooter plus he looks really slow on the highlight tapes I saw including his moves and pump fakes

He's Harden basically but will he be able to evolve and adjust to the NBA game. Harden had the swagger to challenge defenders and force his way to the rim or the line.

I don't think he'll learn much from Dirk other than the ability to shoot more consistently.

2020 decade is a lot similar to 2000 decade where spurs and mavs dominated Texas basketball.

Lonnie Walker/Murray for spurs along with pieces they’ll get for Kawhi. Spurs gonna be really good next decade

Harden should have been a 3 time MVP; that's insulting

Ingles is the greatest shooter in Jazz history....

Doncic has a floor of Papanikolaou. I think for sure he will be better, but worst case is he doesn't adjust mentally to the speed of the game and gets found out physically.

He's already far superior to Papa. Kostas has never achieved anything remotely close in the Euroleague to what Doncic has done at age 19.

Papanikoloau's best season in the Euroleague: 8.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24 minutes per game.
Doncic at age 19 in the Euroleague: 16.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.3 apg in 26 minutes per game, leading his team to the championship (and winning MVPs).

I get that everyone here is rooting for him to fail now that he's going to the Mavs, but please don't compare him to Papanikolaou... Cuban has snatched a top level guy here.

Half people in this topic have no clue and just talking out of their ass. Dirk, Gianna, Porzingis and etc, these were projects out of Europe, and he was MVP at year 19 for cry out loud. Aslo he has a stroke to launch Curry like heaves so you people are dumb, or havent watched him and talking **** which makes you even dumber.

I really like Doncic, but he's no Curry. He is very inconsistent from three. But going to the Mavs is perfect for him. Nowitzki/Holger will help him.

Nah bro the Rox will match Capela if Lebron doesn't sign and then they look like a fool.

Ayton is a hometown guy, fans will come and to see him play. They already have an SG stud with Booker. No point in paying Capella the max they are nowhere near contending.

I gotta admit the Mavs are gonna be a powerhouse again. Luka and Dennis Smith Jr arw one hell of a combination. Then they offer Capela the max for a young triple threat.

He's gonna be good I have no doubts but Mavs are still 1-2 elite players away from being relevant.

I did. I just don't agree with it. His floor is definitely not Papa. Maybe Ingles isn't a great example either, because he's such a great shooter while Doncic is quite an inconsistent long-range shooter, but at the same time Ingles isn't nearly as good as Doncic at playmaking and doesn't have as good of a size. So I guess neither examples are great, but Doncic is very unlikely to fizzle out like Papa, that's for sure.
