If Josh Smith isn't coming back I'd be fine with signing Scola assuming its like vet minimum or something if Smith does come back then there's no need
Young, athletic, amazing hops... what's not to like? Seriously though, at this point Luis's best asset is that he probably knows Sergio Llull.
So he said this back in September, back when our bench was questionable and we didn't have Josh Smith. As others have said, we wouldn't have the cap space or playing time if Josh Smith came back
Yeah. Depdending on scenarios in the summer, I could see one of DMo and Jones be traded away to increase Capela's minutes and to strengthen point guard spot.
I think we gonna try to keep the core including D-mo, Jones, Howard, Harden, Brewer, Ariza. These guys haven't played a whole season together. Imagine if they were all healthy in one season. Chemistry is what makes teams great... San Antonio, Atlanta, Golden State. Look what has been accomplished this season. The upside in keeping them together is huge.
Lol he is going to sign a minimum contract to be a "mentor" to our young big men and to sit on the bench until the playoffs ala Robert Horry in SAS. But at the end of the season, he will be one of the leaders on the team in minutes and an important part to our playoff rotation. Because... Houston. lolol
id rathe rkeep the bigs we have. dwight, smith, dmo, jones and capella. they're all good at defense and offense aside capella. scola's almost done
Not sure how we would add another big to our roster, but if we trade someone (TJones really), it would make sense to bring in Scola on a vet min. contract to be a veteran and a low post tutor for Capela and DMo. Dmo has said that he grew up watching Scola and developed his moves from watching him. Scola has great foot work and is clever on the block, I think he could do a lot in practice to help Capela develop. Keep in mind he will be 34 years old next season.
