looking at the schedule for the first month, we will find out what kind of team this Rockets squad can be right out of the gate. we have two macthups each against the Spurs, Mavs, and Suns, as well as the Lakers in the first month alone... I know the Rockets of late have taken their time chemistry-wise, but we could make a statement very quickly this season...

we also have 4 games on ESPN, 1 on TNT, and 2 on NBAtv as far as nationally televised games go...

what does everyone think? 11-6? 12-5? better or worse?

When you look at the schedule the 1st month looks tough and it really is. I think 12-5 ok or maybe 11-6 would be good

    i think we'll be 12-5 or 11-6. and that's great.

we'll have an easier schedule at the end and thus we can still compete for the #1 seed.

i think we'll win one v. each great team. hell, we might beat dallas both times and spurs too (since we play well in SA)

Why every game against Suns, Dallas or Spurs in your opinion is a loss? I belive we can beat them

You're probably right but I figure those are the games we will most likely lose. It's gonna take time for the players to learn the new system and develop chemistry.

we have players that fit PERFECTLY into this system. it's not like JVG where tmac or francis or james have to watch when they take their shots and things like that. they're playing "freely". i don't think we'll struggle that much.

defensively we might need to adjust.

Don't freak out if they don't do to well the first month. They've got to gel, find their roles and pick a rotation.

It's better to play those teams early on anyway before they've sunk into their grooves.

IMO I THINK THAT IF WE CAN START GELIN IN THE PRESEASON I THINK ITS GOING TO BE EXCITING BECAUSE EVERYBODY WILL BE ON THE RIGHT PAGE. ALSO WE HAVE DEPTH AND WE CAN HANG WITH THE SUNS, SPURS, MAVS AND THE JAZZ. BUT I KNOW THE SPURS EVERY TIME THE ROCKETS PLAY THEM WE CAN HANG WITH THEM. RIGHT NOW WE JUST TO SEE HOW THE ROCKETS GET THE TEAM CHEMISTRY DOWN.

I'm actually expecting our start to be better than our mid-season. This team has a lot of heart and pride. Those early tests aren't going to be taken lightly, and I think we will come out with something to prove. I'm sure the games will be sloppy, but I think determination will take us somewhere early on.

I see mid-season troubles while people try to firm up their roles... a lot of heart and pride definitely, but I don't think this will be an ego free season either... there will be some problems, some people wanting larger roles, etc...

I can easily see us winning 14 games in that first month, and around 58 by season's end.

Only November 28th scares me. The Spurs, as great as they are, have a really hard time dealing with McGrady and Yao in years past...much less a much improved (on paper anyway) supporting cast surrounding TMac and Yao. That game against the Suns on their home court should be entertaining.

I never said we could compete against them I think youre sipping too much of the koolaid. I would like us to win all 82 games but it won't happen, just look at the schedule it's our toughest month. As long as were good to go and gellin' by the playoffs I'm not too concerned about it

Why is it annoying? Such a simple thing, almost meaningless?
