I'm an Oregonian who loves his boots. 99% of my collection come from Texas: *Anderson Bean *Rios of Mercedes Any recommendations outside of these two brands? IMO these are the top dogs of the boot industry.
I'm not a fan of cowboy boots, but I wear zip-up boots exclusively as my 'dress shoe' of choice. Generally Kenneth Cole or Diesel, although I did score a $300 pair of Guess boots at Nordstrom Rack for $40 a few weeks ago that I love.
Don’t have cowboy boots but love me some Goodyear welts. Red Wing Iron Rangers and Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill are my office boots. Maybe eventually will get some Aldens or Vibergs but not in a rush to spend that kind of money on shoes.
Lucchese for the win. Break em in. https://www.lucchese.com/shop/mens/...raz8iDEV4bBrcEgcO5ezKRH9EvezZg64aAkW_EALw_wcB
Can’t go wrong with Luccheses, or Justin for that matter. If you want a custom pair for a lifetime, you can check out M.L.Leddy. Athough being in Oregon, I’m not sure how that would work since you usually get measured and pick styles in store.
I wear nothing but cowboy boots going on a decade now. I wear them because they are part of my past (positive memories) and because they feel great. A couple side points I have noticed over the years. Boots add an easy 2-3 inches. I’m 6’5-6’6” and am nearly 6’9” in them. I don’t care other then people DO treat you different being taller. I have noticed I get more respect from men and women are for some reason attracted to a man in a clean/good quality pair of boots. The type of women seem to cut across all demographics. I got my friend/assistant “House” to wear them. He is a good 6’11” and 325 lbs in them. Obviously big either way but man that extra few inches and the gait he walks with in dark suits make him seem like a monster. There is something relaxing about having someone shine your shoes, tip them well and be respectful but it is a nice break in the day. Don’t kick an animal with them unless you aim to hurt. I have used them playing with my dog and he had two broken ribs. I still feel terrible... Cass goes everywhere with me, work, court (stays in truck), stores and to work out.
