I litereally lost my mind reading this. I dont know how to describe it other than the fact that you absolutely have to read it. It's pretty lengthy but well worth your time. Also you know the interview is batshit crazy when: - Ray Charles shooting heroin through his genitals - Malcom X moved heroin - The whole Nazi party did cocaine -Michael Jackson's pet animals dont crack the top 10 craziest moments about this. https://www.gq.com/story/quincy-jones-has-a-story (was too long for me to quote)
I wish this was filmed and put up in documentary fashion. The prose are incredible...maybe they can just reproduce the interview as a play. =)
Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I do know that Hitler and the Nazis were pioneers on the amphetamine front (pills were rationed/issued to their troops and he had a quack doctor who gave him multiple injections a day), dunno about cocaine, not sure how/where they would have gotten it from.
Dr. Theo Morell was the doctor. I wrote a research paper on him while in graduate school. He gave Adolf Hitler at least 1000 injections. Most of the leadership of The Third Reich was into performance enhancing drugs.
Does he really tho. Did he run in similar circles over the past 60 or so years? From Frank Sinatra and Miles to MJ and Tupac?
Hitler took cocaine prescribed to him by Morell in the form of daily eye drops, from what I understand.
I'm only half way thru and this is AMAZING! I would watch a movie or biopic of just his stories of living on the South Side of Chicago. I also wonder what kinda crazy Will Smith stories he has... with his squeaky clean ass image n what not. Happy Black History Month mutha fu***s!
actually, if anyone would have comparable stories it would be willie. and i think he did run in similar circles or at least hang with people just as notorious, if not more so. look no further than his BFF, waylon jennings. very few people partied as hard as those two back in the day. his drummer paul english was a pimp before he started drumming with willie...check out the lyrics to the song "me and paul" and tell me those two did not get into some shenanigans. ray charles, johnny cash and kris kristofferson. i know he hung with sinatra and miles too. miles was a huge fan and said willies phrasing was a big influence on his playing...miles even had a song called "willie nelson". he and snoop dog are friends.
Yeah I mean I'm not really talking about the people he hung out with back in the day because I'm sure they'd def be comparable w/ Quincy. I mean more so the rappers from the 90s and 00s. I think Willie was pretty much just with Snoop. That's good and all but Quincy getting to know Ice-T, Big Daddy Kane and then Tupac. Tupac dating his daughter, I mean sheesh. There are some interesting stories there. But Willie would def have some great stories as well that I'd love to listen to or read about too.
