You mean like every other team in the league?? If this off-season has taught us anything, it's that teams want stars, and stars want to play with each other.

If everything is the same, why say Alexander era is officially over?

It's just a bolder copy of the same old.

Not to pick on you, but people keep saying this and it makes absolutely no sense to me. Morey did what every single player wants his GM to do.....he LISTENED. Harden asked him to trust him on this, and to bring Russell here. This is something both James and Russ wanted. Given all of the player movements, and how easy it's been for stars to reshuffle the deck, Harden's loyalty to the team and city has earned him this trust IMO. Every other star is getting to move teams, and team up with their partner of choice.....Harden deserves to have that as well. And Morey listened.

It's all on Tilman now. If the team wins, it's to his credit. If the team loses, it's Tilman's fault. It's on Tilman.

GMs want to have the freedom to do their job without being told what to do by cheap owners or stars. They also dont want to be pressured to complete trades that they are against.
They also dont want to be forced to keep coaches they want to fire.
Its far from the ideal environment. A meddling inexperienced loud mouth owner is a GMs nightmare.
There are only 30 jobs and many of them are worse than this.
But considering Morey is an elite GM, as long as a good opportunity opens up I can see him escaping away from this trainwreck.

I get that trust is important.

However, I doubt James Harden knows anything about how to construct a proper contender.

He also wanted Ty Lawson on that team, although he pretended he did not know about his drinking problem.

I am not saying that we should not trust Harden but you can't let him pick his guys.

    Those are questionable fits.

Lebron also wants to play with Bronny but that is more like before his retirement. That is a legit wish IMO after those championships.

James gave Dwight and CP3 a try. He was open-minded and tried to make the marriages work. Honestly, if Morey thought that this was just going to be an unmitigated disaster, he could have easily just said, "Sorry James, OKC is asking for way too much." But, there's obviously positives to be taken from this deal, and Harden and Russ seem to be committed to making it work. Before we jump off the cliff, I would say let's give our MVP his chance to get HIS guy in here for once, and see how it works out.
