LeBron can’t meet with Fertita. Would be tampering.

Cavs can grant the Rockets permission. They got permission from Minnesota to talk with Kevin Love a few years ago.

Cleveland would give Houston permission because we're one of the only teams on LeBrons list that would actually have to send assets back in return.

Well obviously his people would be meeting with the Rockets people.

BUT at the same time, he's technically still under contract with the Cavaliers and can exercise his right to opt in. It's also possible that the Cavaliers and Rockets are discussing trade scenarios and the Cavaliers giving the ok for LeBron's people to meet with the Rockets organization.

    It's called... TAMPERING.

Adam Silver would f*ck us over with Basketball Reasons Part 2.

Now if Harden and Paul want to just invite LeBron over for dinner at Landry's and have Fertitta pick the check then that totally fine, but I doubt anyone would want to eat such terrible food especially not NBA millionaires.

The Chris Paul trade was all done behind the scenes. CP3 opted into his contract and the Rockets/Clippers executed the trade after the draft concluded. The Clippers had trade offers from the Celtics, Spurs, Rockets and other teams. Paul had his people meet with those teams and choose the Rockets.
