    Would you want [Aldridge]?

Jackie Mac: No. Not after what I heard the other day, I don't. Of course, you'd take him on if you could because he's an automatic double-double. But there's some things about him, some stuff going on...

Couldn't tell if she was being serious or not. So, Jackie, do you want him or not?

Rockets still lack the assets to trade for another star.

Aldridge on the Spurs plays like old Timmy Duncan. Good ISO midrange and post game, although more of Aldridge's posts turn into jumpers. He has good efficiency, but the Spurs system clearly changed back to the old Spurs when he was added rather than the free-flowing ball movement where they dismantled the Heat.

I don't even know if they could recreate that, though. Parker can't drive like he used to and Ginobili can't stay on the court.

He's not honestly worth a max. If Phoenix bites and gives up some good talent then SA would be wise to take it. He's one of the most overrated forwards in the league. He was a perfect fit for the Spurs system and his numbers were better across the board, even if his raw numbers went down. Even his defensive metrics improved - he was never a good defender in Portland. He's a fool to think that higher raw numbers translates into him being a better player, or that he's going to get a bigger pay day by putting up marginally better stats on a bad team. The thing is Phoenix isn't exactly loaded with talent... SA would be asking for picks I guess.

    Right?

    Modern NBA star mindsets:
    1. I must be the man at all costs
    2. I must join a super-team to win

Hard to find a happy medium in today's crop of look-at-me stars.

Wants to be the "center of the offense" -> wants to leave the Spurs for the Cavs

    Wat

Also, i can't remember the last time a player wanted to leave the Spurs due to "broken promises"

Any team with LMA as the #1 guy is likely not going to go very far.

Remember, the Spurs did win 67 games last year.

I agree that the team is different than 2011 title team. And Donovan exposed how to beat them by actually forcing them to go to LMA. And that wasn't easy at first, as he did absolutely destroy OKC in Game 1 and a lot of Game 2.

But to my point: I wouldn't equate them to 00s Spurs. Duncan is one of the best big man passers in history. LMA isn't comparable when it comes to how system-friendly Duncan was. Duncan can play in many different systems, and Pops picks the one to suit players like Parker and the other role players, and Duncan adapts. Spurs always had ball movement, just didn't play Motion until 2011-ish

Plus, then the whole defensive side of the ball issue with LMA vs Duncan.

I am having trouble deciding on who wins that trade. AD is younger and the best player in the trade and if he stays healthy its easily the Spurs. The Spurs still say no because they have a better shot at winning now with LA abd Kawhi
