The New Narrative is that Harden pushes offf. . . . . .so look for those to be called soon

At least that one has some validity to it. He does push off quite a bit. It doesn't rise to the level of Warrior illegal screens, but sometimes I'm surprised at what Harden gets away with, seeing as how the refs don't hesitate to call offensive fouls on him for other things.

and of course, this is contradictory to the narrative that hand-checking would stop him.

Even though players still hand-check him and know it doesn't work, fans will say he couldn't play in the era when offensive players could retaliate with pushing off even more than today....while forgetting illegal zones also don't work against him.

Harden making 35 million a year. The push offs from harden started after ginobilli blocked his game winner in the playoffs back in 2017.

The one three pointer that was defended effectively down the sketch of the Lakers game was the corner three which harden scored from the corner off of an inbounds play. Before the inbounds kuzma stopped a transition bucket by getting a deflection which was good, but Stephenson failed to trap harden on the baseline.

Ginobilli went straight up and vertical because it's called reaching if you lending forward and breaking vertical plane.

Defenders are allowed to use their forearm and hip-check him -- wrist to elbow. Almost every drive, this is happening to him. Likewise, Harden will (an can) push back with forearm and shoulder, if defender doesn't have position. This physical exchange has always been allowed, Harden just makes it so profound because he truly knocks the player back, because he's so freaking big.

Also, since he does this a lot while leading with his head, he gets the forearm block up to face (if not simply using his shoulder), and that's being allowed. Again, its a Harden Call, because no one else is really that strong and sticks their head into the first step like he does. imo, it's quite similar to how refs didn't know how to call Shaq's strength, this is similar from a facing up, first step angle.

If the narrative is trying to say he pushes off with his open hand, well, not nearly as much as Jordan did.

The worst refs in sports history was the Lakers-Kings Game 6 in 2002. That dude probably wasn't even born then.

    Too funny

the L2M report basically said these was 1 incorrect call and a few missed calls

The one incorrect call was the one called on PJ for "fouling" Ingram on that strip

    The missed calls:
1 travel on Harden lifting his left pivot before his dribble - this though was only observable through enhanced video. On plays like that I dont mind refs missing this (never complained about this before even when it effects the Rockets, if you need enhanced video to see a call then you can't blame the refs for missing it on the court)
1 Lane violation missed on Tucker
1 Lane violation missed on McGee

The only call that had an effect on the game was...the incorrect call on PJ. Lakers fans are a rare breed I tell you

    These are hard facts.........

But to the "Harden Haters" they just come back with "but Kobe (or player X) EARN those call, Harden just "foul hunts and flops."

There is no "winning" an argument with stats if one just counters with SUBJECTIVE "foul hunting and flopping."

    This is where we are.

We calling fouls when defender bumps Harden before half court too? Just curious.

Harden is slick enough to push off while the defender is strandling and the push kinda becomes a part of his shooting motion. Plus, Harden alternates his pushes, and he doesn't necessarily do it every time.

Against the Lakers in the last 3 mins of the fourth, the first of his three 3's was a slick push. The second was when Stephenson left Harden on the side short corner, and it was a clean play over kcp. The last was one which was a bank and it was dirty too.
