1. Terry 38.4% 2. Harden 38.1% 3. Beverley 36.0% 4. DMo 34.3% 5. Ariza 33.7% 6. Smith 32.3% 7. Brewer 31.4% 8. K-Pap 29.8% 9. T-Jones 29.4% 10. Prigioni 11.1% (only 9 attempts though) I think it's interesting that Terry is only averaging 4.2 three-point shot attempts while a much worse shooter like Ariza is averaging almost twice as much as that (7.0 3P FGA). We should really try to balance those 3PT FG attempts more. Beverley has dropped off significantly since his hot streak to start the season, yet he's still averaging almost 6 three attempts a game. We should also try to feature Pringles more, he can shoot and we can take advantage of that. Just give him TJones' touches and make TJones earn his points on post-ups or putbacks.
Have you factored in how many minutes they see the floor? We employ a "if you're open, shoot it" philosophy. Terry, for example, gets few open looks whereas Bev gets plenty. It has to do with the lineups each of them plays in
Reason Ariza takes so many 3 point shots is because he is on the floor majority of the time that Harden is there and Harden creates more open 3 point shots for Ariza than anyone else. All those cross court whipped passes where Ariza is either spotting up at the corner or at the top because his man is trying to double Harden in case Harden drives. It's not by design. You just take what the opposition gives.
That would make sense. But still, I don't feel very comfortable with Ariza hoisting 7 threes each game the way he has been shooting.
Minutes, line-ups and what the defense is giving us all play a major factor. Other teams tend to close out a little faster on Terry than Josh Smith. It would be nice to have someone shooting over 40%. Would be fun to Novak shooting 7 3's a game.
He is so valuable on defense that I don't mind when he is off on his shooting. He has to keep firing if open, it'd be much worse being 4 on 5 offense. 33% from 3 isn't bad at all for 7 a game and guarding the best players on the other team.
agree. Plus, when he decides not to shoot and instead starts driving... it's badddd news. shoot 3-10 and make lebron take 35 shots to get 38 (and grab a couple steals) and i'll say he earned his 8 mil (or whatever he makes).
Novak would never work playing 35 minutes a game on a team with Harden. Ideal fit with Harden is a defensive stopper that hits threes. There really aren't many guys that we could afford that fit that description well.
He's been shooting better lately, which is good. As much as I've not been a fan of the massive amount of threes we take, yesterday showed me that a major problem is really the bigs not getting the offensive rebounds on the misses. Terrence had one great rebound in overtime last night. Take the footage, GIF it, then put it on D-Mo's, Terrence's, and Josh's phones, and make them watch it every time they want to unlock their phone. Put words on it that say "Do this every time if you want to play."

Dmo use to be just as bad as Jones with his shot, why dont you think Jones can improve as well? Given I like Dmo's release alot better than Jones but ive also seen alot worse be able to improve. His shot looks pretty good its just really slow.
