it takes a gigantic struggle by yates and flawless performance by keenum for them to flip flop.

    I like it.

Yates should be our backup especially with him having in game/playoff experience. He did nothing to lose the job.

Plus his trade value is still at the same level if anyone gets desperate **cough** Oakland **cough**

Keenum played great and deserves a spot on the team, hopefully he keeps improving and reaches his full potential with us.

This. It was going to be the only way Keenum would take over the #2 spot.

Yates had a solid preseason, and choosing him creates the least amount of drama. Pure Kubiak.

if they were interested in possibly trading Yates, moving him to #3 might hurt his value, so this makes sense

    So much this.

Why do you think the announcement came today and not after Friday? They would have welcomed a trade if an offer came.

Yates has no trade value, no one would give up more than a 6th for him

Arizona or NYJ might bite for a 5th.

Oakland has Matt Flynn. Even though they might suck at QB, Yates would be 3rd string.

NYJ would make the most sense, as we know Sanchez blows, and Geno Smith has looked terrible.

Choosing a backup QB isn't exactly the most dramatic decision of the year for any coach...

Fine with that, truth of the matter is, Case while mobile has the disadvantage of being smaller then your prototypical NFL QB, TJ doesn't have that problem, plus experience in NFL games.

Ultimately, injury is going to be the only way Case sees the field this season but next, he will probably have a better chance due to contracts and if he kept up the fire he came into this camp with.

Flynn has an even worse noodle arm than Schaub, Yates would definitely be a plus in that regard. Pryor is only good with his legs, no accuracy for the more dominating defenses of the league.

I could see NYJ as a landing spot too. But I also have no doubt he would beat out the current QBs in Oakland either.

Question, when is Minny gonna realize they wasted a top 20 pick on Ponder and upgrade? That team is going NOWHERE with that man at the helm.

Ponder isnt that bad...he's still a ton better than Gabbert and Locker. Out of those three, he is by far the best.

Jax and Tenn could both use QBs.

    True.

He's still not even a top 15 QB in the league.

    Rodgers
    Brady
    Manning
    Brees
    Ryan
    Flacco
    Manning (lil brother)
    Schaub
    Roethlisberger
    Romo
    Luck
    Stafford
    Griffin III
    Kaepernick
    Wilson
    Newton
    Dalton
    Bradford
    A. Smith
    Rivers

That's my top 20 and he doesn't even crack that list.

    I disagree.

Especially in light of Cushing's contract, and JJ's looming contract. Schaub has two cheap replacements sitting on the bench.
