KRS-One of the greatest emcees of all time giving out history lessons... Even giving kudos to Bruce Lee as being a forefather of Hip Hop... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SBrlvOmxU6g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I went to Rock the Bells in NYC a few years back. KRS One was MCing the thing. Gosh, I thought his monologues on the "spirituality" of hip hop, how you "live" it, the way of life, yada yada, was some of the most ridiculous stuff I've ever heard. I don't claim to know a whole lot about hip hop, but trying to paint it as something religious-like was a bit much for me.
Its an interesting topic and he is a good story teller, but its too long. i got through about 17 minutes and stopped listening. He was on Bruce Lee and how all the people in the hood admired Lee and that created a "hip hop" attitude.
I'd love to see a KRS-One seminar... I might need to get more into Christian rap, any recommendation/Gospel rap anyone???
