He becomes one of the first hires by new Memphis head coach Josh Pastner. Wilson and Pastner have not been available for comment but in an interview with FOX 26 Tuesday Pastner had high praise for Wilson. "I have known Willis for a long time," Pastner said Tuesday. " Coach Wilson is as classy a person as you will find. His reputation is impeccable and he is a very good basketball coach." Wilson was the head coach at Rice for 16 years, compiling a record of 219-246.
Very good guy but Memphis' program will nosedive. He will not meet the expectations they are accustomed to.
