[KRIV FOX 26] LB Ryans to Rejoin Texans

HOUSTON - Houston Texans middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans will report to the teams voluntary off-season workouts beginning Monday according to his agent Ben Dogra.

Ryans, who still has one year left on his Houston contract, was unhappy the two sides were not able to agree on a multi-year deal and chose not to take part in the team's off-season conditioning program.

"He's coming to town and he is going to be there Monday and is ready to play football in 2009," said Dogra in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

Dogra, who was recently hired by Ryans, said he has yet to discuss his client's contractual situation with the Texans.

"I have not spoken to the Texans yet. They are in draft meetings right now. I will speak with (general manager) Rick Smith at the appropriate time."

Ryans told Fox 26 Sports Thursday he is comfortable with his decision to return to the team.

"I feel good about it," Ryans said. "For me it is always about football."

"I need to get around my guys, guys I am going to lead, and I've missed that."

Ryans said he is not going to let the issues with his contract be a factor anymore.

"I am going to let Ben handle that," Ryans said. "I know Ben will do an excellent job. I am not worried about it. I am just ready to get back to work with my guys."

Dogra also represents Texans Defensive End Mario Williams.
