I've made this exact comparison for years. Most people would take it as a shot at Kobe but it is really just a statement about how players' legacies are defined by their teammates. Anyone who seriously watched games in the 80s realizes how good of a player 'Nique was, but his teams were ****. Meanwhile, Kobe has consistently had the most stacked teams in the league, and this year isn't any different.

Also, Kobe would absolutely get destroyed if he played LeBron one-on-one. It wouldn't even be close.

kobe has double the WS/48. I see huge differences between the two of them. The only thing similar is field goal and ppg... Kobe shot a better clip from three with a MUUUCCHH larger sample size. Got to the line more, has more than double Niques assists.

I personally don't see how this comparison holds true expect for ppg. kobe most likely would have had better numbers playing with the Hawks Nique had in the 80's as well. Nothing against Nique, he was fantastic but Kobe is another level of player. Nique also fell off in the playoffs compared to the regular season, at least more so than Kobe did, especially in terms of shooting. However this is a smaller sample size.

Both are all time greats but they shouldn't be compared. It'd be similar to putting Durants numbers beside MJ's and saying he's been almost as good or better than Michael was at this stage of his career.

Sure he does have better WS- he played on tons of 60 win teams.
hat's what happens when you play with all timers like prime Shaq instead of Jon Koncak and Tree Rollins.

Look at Kobe here. He knows damn well who the king is. LeBron owns him.
