Nowadays the only players kids look up to are either Lebron,Kobe or Durant but i kinda feel bad that some kids didn't get to see other players in their prime before they got injured or retired.

    Iverson
    Mcgrady
    Gary Payton
    Shaq
    ect

and the people who watched iverson mcgrady etc. may not have appreciated barkley, robinson, malone, payton etc. because they did not watch them in their physical prime...

the cycle goes on like that.....

But each era has its own specialty and uniqueness. Not just player wise but style of play and rules. I think the early 00 had the best of everything.

Shaq was incredibly unappealing to watch.

    Iverson- Didn't practice
TMac- Was a women who always was injuried
Gary Payton- Ok I missed out
Shaq- Couldn't make a free throw to save his life

I don't think I missed out alot  Durant, Kobe & Lebron almost never gets injuried, they practiced, and can make free throws :p

Seriously this thread makes no sense lol. There's always going to be people who didn't watch the players before their time.. unless you're Betty White

If you are watching Lebron, Kobe, and Durant right now, then trust me, you are not missing anything from not having watched Iverson or McGrady.

In fact, that would be a downgrade.

PS. This is coming from someone who has been watching NBA for over 25 years.

Really? The mid 80's to mid 90's was really great basketball. It got really bad during the 00's. It has come back to where it is good again. The 00's was the time of iso ball. It was extremely boring to watch.

Fell in love with this league watching Iverson go up against Kobe/Shaq in the 2001 Finals.

A.I. put up 30+ points in each game, simultaneously carrying that crappy team on his shoulders and hamstringing it with mind-boggling inefficiency. Still loved the guy though.

Kobe is also from the era of Iverson, Shaq, McGrady. The fact that he's mentioned these days with Durant and Lebron means he's very durable.

I've been recently watching old games of Barkley, Jordan, Payton, Malone, Kemp, Mullin, Hardaway, etc on youtube. Man I wished I could have watched these guys play.
