I thought the guy who defended KD the best was Capela. He worked to stay in front of him and his length made the shot difficult. There are a few problems with that, though; 1)Even when he defended KD perfectly, the shot still went in, 2) Capela defending KD means he is away from the basket on rebounds, and 3) It doesnt matter who the best defender for him is, the Warriors can get anybody they want on Durant because of all the switching.
KD is unguardable, he’s so tall and gets so much elevation on his jumper that he doesn’t even see the contest it really boils down to if he just so happens to be missing his shots that particular game fck this dude for going to GS...
6'8" battier getting his hands up in the face of 6'6" bryant was a little easier don't ya think. the only person who can attempt the "eye cover defense" on durant is capela. the rest can't reach his eyes unless they grow.
If you have KD shooting a bunch of long jumpers and we're owning the defensive glass like we did last night, that might be the best you can ask for to be honest. The alternative is having Curry and Thompson shooting REAL 3's (which eventually happened late in the game). If Luc isn't going to do anything on offense then we simply don't have the personnel to stop KD whne he's hot.
