3 straight trips in the 4th? 3 straight buckets for kobe. kobe knew martin couldn't guard him.

The predictablility of Kobe shooting again is what allowed houston to gang up on him and make him miss.

If he plays like he does in the first quarter without the take over mentality this lakers team will be unbeatable.

He's done a better job than Courtney Lee. Which maybe says more about Lee's inability to defend Kobe.

Martin is a pathetic defender BUT tonight he has given effort and hustle on the defensive side, all you can ask.

If you grab the ball, sit there for 10 secs, let the defense set up, and then finally try to make a move to the basket, you're playing right into Kevin Martin's hands.

That's why he's able to do a decent job against Kobe.

Why do so many of you complain about his defense?
His offense is AMAZING, not just points scored, but how many shots it takes him to get.

Not EVERY single player has to be 2wayed, that's what a 6th man is for.

Defense is largely effort, Martin doesn't put in the effort all the time.

the thing he doesnt have to play defense all game but when its final 6 mins
i think he should so we dont have to put a player in just for defense
see if he plays defense then we can have more offense

He's a decent defender 1v1 and it's not like he doesn't try on defense. The problem with his defense is when he has to fight through screens/picks and chasing his man. That's where his defense is terrible.

Martin played like an All-Star tonight, great offense and decent defense on one of the best of all-time.

It's not 1 on 1, but Battier or Lee is 1 on 1 to guard Kobe

who can work with martin on offense?

i think if martin continues to work on his defense he'll be better (like he did against kobe this past game). he's got battier and hayes for advice.

we all know martin score but he lacks the consistency to create his own shot and close games. just like kobe and howard used dream to polish their games, who would you choose to help martin?

i wouldn't mind seeing clyde working with martin.
