Kevin Durant strongly believes in Mike Beasley, too bad we couldnt snatch him for a future 2nd round pick...Woulda been interesting to see if he could take over at the 3 or anywhere else! Thoughts???
They know each other from younger days. Not surprised KD is publicly backing him up. I stand by all of my negative comments about Beasley regardless of what KD says.
that would have been nice to add that young talent with some good upside ahead of him yet for virtually nothing. Although i read that along with the 2nd rounder, there is also an agreement on a future first rounder, unspecified year. IMO still very worth it, he has a career 15ppg and 6rpg in two years, and hes only 21.. well worth the supposed risk i think.
His maturity level rivals with the classiest guys in the NBA. How ironic that Durant is not only younger, but also plays in a small market team.
I'm going to trust Morey's judgment on the guy. It's really not just about his skills, which he has in spades, but also other problems that don't show up in the box score.
Beasley needed to move to a city that wasn't like South Beach. A lot of athletes love to party in Houston so I don't think that would be the best place for Beasley to play right now. Maybe this will straighten Beasley out. I hope so
I wouldn't be shocked if this sends Beasley into full-blown pout mode. He wasn't really winning in Miami, but he was playing with D-Wade and living on South Beach. In Minnesota, he'll be losing in front of an empty arena, playing with a really unhappy Al Jefferson if they don't trade him, and he'll have a 3 foot snow bank waiting outside after the game.
Thinking back on it, the Wolves need to be very thankful that they happened to have KG and Marbury together for so much of their early history. They have been beyond on after thought since then. Without KG/Steph for all those years, they may have been relocated by now.
They came thiiiiis close to getting Wade. They were a strong #2 on his list. He just didn't want to admit his love for rodeos and cowboys. But, why would they want to sign someone to a huge contract? Instead they went for Ostertag Jr. on a rookie contract at the expense of Mo Pete's dead body. Elvis Presti (I can call him this, since he apparently talks with Dork Elvis all the time.) is not going to do a massive blunder signing and ruin the team's future. A failed draft pick (howdy, Nick Collison twin) is a hiccup, not a self inflicted slit throat.
