(on if CB Kareem Jackson has knee ligament or cartilage issues) “No. I didn’t say anything about a knee.” (on an announcement that CB Kareem Jackson had a knee injury) “I don’t know who announced that. I didn’t announce that.” (on an announcement in the press box that CB Kareem Jackson had a knee injury) “I heard he had a toothache. I have to get on the same page with Kap (Geoff Kaplan), but I didn’t announce the knee. You didn’t hear that one from me. I didn’t hear that one. I don’t know. Day- to-day.” (on if CB Kareem Jackson has a knee) “Does he have a knee? He has two knees. Not that I know of.” (on what the injury to CB Kareem Jackson is) “It’s day-to-day, whatever it is. It’s always day to day. Come on, man. It’s been nine months now. You know the drill.”
yeah i don't mind the 'day to day' by b.o.b but don't deny the severity on an injury. if he wants that to be the drill, he better start firing left and right until he finds whoever is releasing the injury info. time to sign kareem on the cheap and finally move him to safety
Lol...at signing another player with an injury only to be faced with more such injuries...and that new contract becomes a bad one...
I'd be on board with keeping Kareem if this was the plan. I didn't understand why GQ was a good fit to turn into a safety, but Kareem makes sense. He likes to hit, and he's a liability in single coverage. MAYBE he can find it easier being over the top help rather than trying to catch up when he gets burnt. If not, I'd love to say time to move on from this reminder of 2010's worst defense ever. Rolle and Bouye and some journeyman for 3-4m please.
No offense to KJ, and of course I hope he recovers quickly, but at this point of the season it also provides an opportunity to push the young CBs out into the pool and make them swim. We need more defensive backs that can play. Same with other positions.
i've been impressed with bouye, morris and rolle. They have speed and are ambiturners that can locate the ball. haven't seen those skill traits in houston since glenn and coleman.
Honestly, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Kareem progress over the years. He's solidly become the best corner on this team. However, that's not saying a whole lot when you've got Johnathan Joseph on the other side of you.
