I can guarantee I drink more hoppadillo, and hop delusion when they made it more than anyone ITT. Don't get me wrong, i am super mad, yet optimistic- my biggest problem with hoppadillo is its inconsistency. Right now, I can drive across the street and get 9/20 hoppadillo, tastes a little flat, stale; or I can drive 12 miles to Kroger's and get 10/10 dated hoppadillo, which is bright, happy, flower perfumy, almost a different product altogether. Idk if that's just time passage or something else, but I've been experiencing it over the years with this beer, and only this beer. Their hop delusion OTOH I'd never had a bad batch.

I'm staying hopeful. A.B. will preserve the recipe, but be more consistent. If it's 90 percent as good as it is now when it's at its best, and always 90 percent, I'll stay on board. If they majorly change the recipe or preservstion.. going to California. Sculpin is twice as expensive, but never had a bad sculpin

And we still have lone pint... Neighbor of the beast and yellow rose. But those are also super inconsistent.

I wish it didn't happen, bit wtf do I care... Ima stop drinking any day now anyway.

People have no problem buying their food from Cargill or Monsanto, their clothes from some hellhole sweatshop in Bangladesh, but **** with their mediocre local microbrew and it's time for torches and pitchforks.

Don't worry folks, there are still a ton of local craft brewers you can support that have not sold out yet

I prefer Buffalo Bayou's Sam's Daily, but I can't call it my go to choice. Lately my go to beer has been Karbach's Love Street or their Oktoberfest, but I'll be moving on with my life ...sigh...

So on 790 just now they said Abev fronted Karbach 2 million dollars to start up the brewery. I had no idea. Really don't care as that beer last night gave me heartburn all damn night. Not sure if bad batch but it tastes meh and super, super hoppy, hard to even enjoy. I'd take an All Day IPA any and everyday over it if choosing a lower ABV beer, even though Hopadillo isn't a session. Ain't mad, just not a beer I really care for anyways.

That was always the rumor. Karbach has very shady was of pushing their taps into bars and squeezing smaller local breweries out.

BTW, Hay Merchant was a mad house yesterday but I managed to get 2 growlers filled for $13. got three legged lab and BBHellfighter 15.

Longhorn! I was wearing a black Harden Jersey. definitely under 3 bill tho unless my scale is lying.

No pitchforks here. Just won't be giving a corporation that's pushing against legal weed, small independent breweries and used rice to make "beer". I'm happy for the owners and the employees are going to be fine.

I don't give my money to Walmart either.

Petrol Station posted on their Facebook page:

Next Wednesday we will put all of our remaining Karbach kegs including chocolate BBH on tap with all profit going to the Texas Craft Brewers Guild. The purpose of the guild is to promote Texas craft beer, educate the public about the qualities and attributes of craft beer and advancing the common interest of Texas craft brewers. They also lobby to protect craft breweries from companies like ABI.

We sold them to AB and helped raise all their debt financing for their new facilities a year ago.

I love me some Love Street. Honestly it's upsetting but if the quality stays the same, who am I to deny my belly.

Karbach f****** failed okay I'm going to sugar-coat it not going to sprinkle some little plum cake chocolate sprinkles s*** stacks on it I'm going to tell you what the truth is and why the truth is taken away from us by these corporate seals sitting in $70,000 rust buckets looking for a blanket to cover them up at night. End of story not even going to suffocate one more of you chicken eaters. Let's talk about a little thing I like to call trickle down economics. The little thing is that it doesn't f****** work. So you can continue to sit on your high horse bowl of gravy pissing off the skyscraper on to the sun-drenched faces of your mortal underlings.

Karbach was one of the few US microbrews I actually did like. Given a choice, I'd rather drink my favorite Czech, Belgian or British beers, and if I absolutely felt the need to be precious about it, I would be doing it with an authoritative, smug lisp about the high-end mescal that's readily available in Texas and lower priced than anywhere in the world other than Oaxaca.

    But that's me.

Hah reading this thread makes me hate myself.

You think any boutique brewery is going to hold me hostage? I can always buy a bottle of any number of top shelf bourbons, Idgaf about beer.
