Don't kill the messenger, I agree with everything you say.

It's amazing to me that we have 4 sports talk stations and we still don't have a single show that stands out as anything above average.

Your friend is probably right. I hate the hosts on that station but occasionaly listen only because of all the Texans interviews and Texans talk. Josh Ennis is just the most annoying person on radio IMO. I don't understand how the station doesn't see that. He thinks those ratings are due to how good he and Rich are together and it couldn't be further from the truth. It's due to them sucking less than Palilo. If John and Lance got back together on 790 or 1560 in the afternoons, even without being the Texans' flagship, I GUARANTEE they'd be the # 1 drive-time sports station in Houston. 610 SUCKS:mad:

Randomly, inspired by the Innis/Zierlein pissing contest: Wouldn't a Lance and Larry Zierlein radio show be awesome? I would listen to that religiously.

    You are kidding, right?

Pallilo is the single most informed, prepared, and objective host in our market. The dude could go national if he felt like it. One thing I've noticed he DOESN'T do is pander to nonsensical callers or let someone get away with an opinion that has zero basis in fact.

Unless we enjoy the lowest-common-denominator type of sports talk because we have some sort of inferiority complex about our hosts being somewhat intelligent then Charlie is about as good as it gets.

Everyone knows Charlie is the most knowledgeable sports personality in the city and has been for decades, but the guy doesn't have much of a personality on the radio. If he had a good co-host, his show would probably be the best in Houston. He's just not interesting enough to carry a show by himself.

I've always thought he and Lance would make a great team.

I have no problem with his personality on the radio, but I can see that though.

I guess he's such a stark departure from what we normally get in terms of the unprepared, wishy-washy, contradictory-in-their-opinions-on-a-daily-basis hosts that I'm MORE than willing to overlook the lack of a fireworks-infused personality.

I'm just so sick of the guys that seem to just 'wing' it. Or say something just to be provocative or "edgy". It amateur night. But, to be intellectually honest, I can see where you're coming from.

Sorry, Palilo's voice just bores me as much as Wexler, Josh and Lopez do.

Charlie's show is a great change of pace when you get tired of Man Cards, 2 Minute Idiot Drills and crappy fan made Texans music. He also doesn't let moron callers run his show (or get in usually). I can definitely see how someone might not listen for the whole show- a co host could be a nice addition - but when I have listened I have to admit I've found it very informative and interesting.

I don't like Josh but I find myself listening to the show anyways. To me it sounds like he is always whining. I usually switch back and forth between Vandermeer/Lopez and Matt/Adam in the morning, I go with Matt Thomas in the afternoon, then prefer Charlie on the drive home but when he's on commerical I see what JR show is talking about.

From time to time I'll listen to 97.5 and for some reason, I always feel like 1560 never talk true sports.

Y'all pissed me off already with Innes, now you've got to post a link with Granato at 3? The guys talks about Demeris BBQ and cuts jokes, he's not a sports personality.

Yup, it's "Lesbian Craig" I guess trying to come off more proffessional by using his real name. Of course he's gonna like another Dbag who talks just to get a rise out of people.
