The team does look a little out of sync, but surpisingly they play hard. Freeman won't be there long, but could prove he's better by playing well...Schiano won't last the year if they continue to tumble...
His value is not on par with Schaub. Schaub in Atlanta was unknown outside coming in for Vick that New England game and playing good in the preseason. Josh Freeman is known for missing meeting and has struggled the last 2 years his value continues to drop.
Nick Saban did not fail as an NFL coach. He left the Dolphins for one of the best historical college programs.
He ain't their only (potential) problem. I agree that he didn't fail, I felt like the Dolphins were headed in the right direction. I actually hated the moves Parcells made. Right now Alabama is the better job, sure, but at the time it wasn't. Saban turned that sucker around. Quick.
Kind of odd how NFL history works out, would've been weird to have seen Nick Saban coaching a Drew Brees led Miami team.
He's a free agent at the end of the season, no reason for anyone to waste a pick on a guy that isn't gonna compete for a starting spot this season
Wasn't he owed 8 million or something absurd this season? And people thought a team would be willing to pay that and give up a 3rd?
I think there will end up being a lot of teams interested. There are plenty of teams that either need a starter or need quality depth and I think there are going to be enough teams willing to write off this season because the Bucs are a mess overall. But I'm not shocked that they couldn't find a trade partner for him. It was pretty obvious they were just going to release him in any event, so why give something up?

Brad Omland @bradradio 58m Josh Freeman signing could mean a trade for @cponder7 by Saturday (NFL deadline). Look for him to go for a 5th or 6th rd draft pick.
