Maybe he's going undercover to investigate their side of the hacking scandal. Hahahaha...sorry, I said he could "investigate".
i think that's the general sentiment around here, but may be wrong. she's basically the polar opposite of drellich (every move the team makes is the correct one), with 1/10th the baseball knowledge. give me the one that understands the game.
Was more of a corporate shill than a reporter... she fits well in her role at MLB.com, in which her duties are largely comprised with puff pieces and promotional events.
She worked directly for the team, so of course she was always very positive of the team. She was extremely good at her job.
Right, but she blasted them a few times when they deserved it. She was less of the "I think..." kind of reporter and more of a "This is why they did...", and I appreciated that. I don't need reporters to do my thinking for me, I just need info that only members of the press are privy to.
Well yeah, her primary job was not engender controversy in order to maximize page views and listeners. It was to provide information...you know, act like a journalist.
I think it's offensive to journalists to call her a journalist. She was the senior director of social media. She worked for the team. Her job was to cater to fans and generate new fans. Not that the chronicle is employing any stellar reporters... But there shouldn't be any concern or doubt of bias in their reporting/opinions. Yes, they report controversy when there is some (perhaps overly so). Footer was merely an extension of Bill Brown and Deshaies... Team employees.
Footer certainly wasn't a reporter, but i enjoyed what she did. At this point I would take manatees selecting idea balls over Drellich.
