Is it against the rules for players to represent themselves?

Gone to Klutch. They did good on TT and Bledsloe contract. Will be way easier getting Wall max.

Sounds like he might want to leave WAS.

Getting Wall the max with WAS is one thing
Getting Wall the max with a new team is another
    -------------------------------------------------------
The two $$ numbers are significantly different.

So, to get Wall his absolute max, the agent will need to get WAS to pay it, or will need WAS to engineer a max SnT, which is often facilitated by the agent.

Hmm... I think in older days without easy access to media, sure. But being that he's a top guard I'm sure even other teams would want to give him max (as long as knee isn't broken). And then they'd figure out the SnT with Washington, or make room elsewhere for him. I mean I'd think a lot of teams would have him setup for dinners etc. Like they did for Melo/Dwight and even DeAndre... Haha.

The max is significantly more if he stays; otherwise, he needs a SnT. Hence, the complexity that maybe he feels a new agent can facilitate better than Fegan.

Or, maybe this has something to do with the fact Wall is currently a sneaker Free Agent, and Fegan isn't delivering on getting him a big endorsement deal?

RE07 is right, he'd get a max contract whether he stays or go.
He can only get a 5-year max by staying in Washington. Otherwise, 4 years whether he signs with a new team or is signed-&-traded to a new team.

But he's not a free agent. He has 3 years left on his deal.

    '15-'16: $15,851,950 | '16-'17: $16,957,900 | '17-'18: $18,063,850 | '18-'19: $19,169,800

didnt they change the rule in the last collective bargaining agreement making it no longer possible to get a 5 year max deal in a sign and trade?

Mr wall: my services are available for half the price. I can guarantee a max offer for you or your money back

Seriously though, what a bad ass job.

Being an agent doesn't extend to just the basketball side, how hard would it be for someone to get Wall or Lebron or KD a max contract? For superstars like what HP is saying the agent's real job is to get him lucrative endorsements, Harden's 200M contract for example is a major selling point his agent can use in recruiting other players.

Yeah, sorry. But it wasn't the 5th yr I was addressing, but rather the max raise of 8% vs 4.5%. I was mainly thinking the max raise was still the same, which are a bigger money-maker than the final year (which isn't even always wanted, anyhow). But SnTs are limited to 4.5% raises, now too. So, scratch the extra money part.

But, what I was intending to focus on was if Wall wanted to get to another team. SnTs are still required for cap reasons, for salary matching. Agents help facilitate getting Wall to the right team (if they don't have cap room).
