Serious question: what did Jeff Green do to the coach to be forced to play in this one???

I'm offended. Before, I wasn't going to watch this game. But now I'm not going to watch it even more.

This is an outrage!!! They should be fined by the league for benching their starters. If they fined the spurs a few years back for doing it, what makes this situation any different?

I agree, they should be. What they did is not quite as bad as the Spurs. The guys getting rest at least traveled with the team and showed up at the arena. But, they also did it at an away game, which isn't too cool. If you're going to cheat the ticket-buyers, at least cheat your own ticket-buyers. And they didn't even bother to make up fake injuries or illnesses to cover the absence.

[rQUOTEr]John Wall: ‘I guess they don’t respect us’

“That’s how I see it,” Wall said when asked if the Grizzlies decision was disrespectful to Washington. “They sit them and I don’t know the reason why. I think we’re a team that’s on the rise and teams respect us now. I guess they don’t respect us and we went out there and played basketball the right way and tried to get a win no matter what.”

“They make the decisions over there,” Wizards forward Paul Pierce said. “We have to go out there and play whoever they put out there. Coaches know how their players feel. Maybe they couldn’t go tonight.”

“I was surprised to see guys sit,” Wall admitted. “I thought probably Conley would be the only one to miss because of his ankle sprain but it was shocking to see. It doesn’t matter to me. We got the win. We looked passed that.”[/rQUOTEr]

I agree. If every team rested their starters against us from now on I would gladly take the win streak.

Stern's hands were tied. Heat-Spurs was a nationally televised marquee match up. Broadcast rights is where the NBA gets the bulk of its cash. The president of the network complained and Stern had to act.
