On one hand he's being sincere and saying something we all agree with and know. On the other hand he's a vet and should know better. But it seems the environment there is pretty bad and he is very frustrated.
His frustration makes a lot more sense when you remember that he is 31 and signed through next year. He's officially wasting his prime
^This. Gotta say though, I love the Clippers implosion which was created in part by the Rockets. Considering they used to beat us so much destroying them and causing their downfall is ironic and great!! lol
He was on the Grantland podcast earlier this year and said the greatest team he's ever played for was the Dwight-led Magic who made the finals. He clearly thought that team was better than a team with an elite PG like CP3. He said something along the lines of feeling like they had something really special. Chemistry was there and the locker room was perfect. Makes me think he'd be very happy to play with Dwight again. Also are there any other ex Magic guys we can still get who aren't scrubs? Bring back Courtney Lee? And remember the huge rumours of Trading for Ryan Anderson?
It's not just the rockets. There were rumours, (an article by Aldridge too I think) that they had horrible chemistry and bad lockerooms. JJ is a professional and had been through other bad situations for him to say smth like this public just reinforces this. AND that's why a coach should never be a gm as well. This is a lot on Doc. When you put your own players through trade rumours year after year and then you fail to trade them good luck trying to get the best out of them then.
How many wins do we average per year with the teams below because they will be getting swept by us next year. Add that many more wins to our total wins from last year. We might break the franchise record! Clippers Mavericks Trailblazers Suns
Clippers are still a playoff team. Losing their third best player hurts, but he is just that. They added some pieces too though. Overall worse, but not as bad as JJ is making it seem. Mavs are done, blazers done, Suns will be more balanced.
We can use a shooter like JJ. I know it's not just the Rockets, but that Game 6 collapse just exposed all the hidden problems with the Clippers. They looked respectable beating the Spurs. And then poof just like that choking away the series against us.
Well that team made the finals, while the Clippers haven't even made the Conference Finals. So yes, the way the team performed and ended up would suggest they were the best team he played for.
