Jeremy Lin makes a GREAT 6th man, now we need to trade Asik.

As I stated last season, Jeremy Lin should have been 6th man (see sig for those who laughed at that idea)

Tonight, Lin showed how great he can be with that role. Lin is still going to be closing games, and he will still be getting 25+ minutes a night, being a 6th man is perfect for him.

As for the twin towers, I've been saying that wouldn't work at all. Howard plays better when Asik isn't clogging the paint with him.

Perhaps its time to start Jones until the Rockets can upgrade their PF spot, because clearly Asik and Howard are not a good front court pair.

TLDR - Lin should remain the 6th man, is doing a great job. No more Asik/Howard frontcourt experimenting.

Lin is a great sixth man! Therefore, trade our backup C!

We call him the 6th man but i honestly think Mchale just sees him as a normal reserve. Normally a 6th man is always better than the starter in his position and even though he doesn't start, he usually plays more minutes than the starter and also closes out the game. See Ginobli, Crawford, JR smith. etc. We will see how Mchale handles his minutes because right now we can only assume from a handful of games.

I'm pretty sure that's where they give players contracts, so they can't ask for a trade after a good game.

Tonight we went away from the twin towers in the second half, first half of the year, and, with Jeremy Lin having the half of his life, we lost the half 40-54 to a Raptor team having its worst shooting night of the year. We gave up second chance points over and over, because we didn't have Asik. We didn't really have anybody playing badly, we just got soundly outplayed because we didn't have Asik. It may be that we can compete without Asik, but this game suggests we can't. You say that Howard plays better without Asik in the game. Look at the difference between Howard in the first half and Howard in the second half! Asik is not the problem. Jones played his best ball, Lin played his best ball, Parsons and Harden had fine games, Howard was a beast. And we still got rolled in the dirt, at home, by the Raptors, the entire second half, because we didn't use Asik.

Any player that asks for a trade after one breakthrough performance is a player who would not get a trade.

Lin had a great game tonight and played on his "Linsanity" level, but come back down to earth here, thats only one game. No other team is going to base one game or even a few games to determine your value.

His greatness as a sixth man shouldn't be defined or confirmed over one break out game.
