She sounds like a pretty well educated basketball writer which is nice... (even though she's a Spurs fan... but I'll forgive her for now). Some notes- -Her guess from being around practice is that McHale's out with some sort of family illness, or there is something wrong with a family member. The more you hear about this, the worse off you feel about this situation. Guy's gone through alot already. -Talks about how she was basically hired to write about Dwight, and interview Dwight, and said its been very easy, and nothing like she was led to believe hearing stories from LA -Thinks Parsons' back will continue to be an issue throughout at least the first half of the season -Thinks we might have seen the last of Asik in a Rockets uniform. Sounds like she's heard some things about trade rumors but nothing finite enough to report. Sounds like they are keeping everything very close to the chest. -Says that Jones' starts to the game are really a difference maker for the Rockets. Says its something that usually a veteran player would do, and says that Parsons is key to Jones' success because he's very good at putting him in places to get easy buckets early in games. -Hit some other news around the NBA. Surprises with Portland & the mess & NYC. Also touches on Kobe coming back & thoughts of contract.
Well, she is from San Antonio, so it would be surprising if she wasn't a Spurs fan. At least she's not a Dallas fan.
Interesting about hearing how important Parsons is to Jones. Parsons' intelligence on the court is very good
Great point about Parsons and Jones. The two games Parsons was OUT, Jones' production REALLY suffered. Just goes to show you how KEY Parsons is to the Rockets.
