In charging Maxwell, however, federal prosecutors in New York may face a legal hurdle. In 2007, Epstein signed a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida that appeared to immunize his accomplices. The document says that "the United States also agrees that it will not institute any criminal charges against any potential co-conspirators of Epstein, including but not limited to" four alleged accomplices. Maxwell isn't listed among them, but her lawyers may argue that she is covered by the phrase "but not limited to." I hope she doesn't get out of this but I'm not that confident knowing the above. Whoever the hell engineered this deal for Epstein should be barred permanently from ever practicing law again.

Yeah, it was helpful for Berman to make a little stink so everyone was primed to keep an eye on the functioning of the SDNY. Hopefully it's not too compromised, despite Barr's obvious shenanigans.
This story just gets crazier. I literally got goosebumps this afternoon when I heard she had been arrested in the US and the SDNY was prosecuting (a coincidence I'm sure that Berman was forced out just weeks ago by Barr and Trump... ). Interesting that Prince Andrew's name came up this afternoon in the press conference. Some drama involving him certainly seems to be on the horizon.
