exactly my thoughts. The type of coach you loved to hate as the opposing fan... but if he was your coach i bet you love him. Type.

I wonder what Vernon Maxwell will say on his next tweet.

I bet he will be respectful on this one or not say anything at all.

Remember him as ex Bulls player rather than Jazz head coach.

    (Parkinson's and dementia)

    RIP tenacious D.

Remember him as a Bull. Whenever I hear the adjective "hard-nosed," I still think of him. One tough SOB.

Old school tough as nail coach. Players in this era would pee their shorts

An all time great, who consistently had a winning record almost every year in over 23 years as a coach.

Definitely has an argument for top 10 coach all time as well.

Lot's of respect, it wouldn't have been a great rivalry if we didn't face genuine greatness on the other side.

    RIP Jerry Sloan

I don't remember the circumstances, but I do recall thinking he was a standup guy for benching one of his own players in the middle of the game for his treatment of either a Rockets player or coach. He was a great coach.

I never liked him, because of the deliberate and constant flopping, kicking, elbowing that he encouraged in the Utah Jazz, but he was tough and never quit. He was very good at X's and O's.

I'm sad that he passed away. RIP.

I can't remember much of the games he coached anymore, but I vividly remember him pacing the sidelines and frantically making substitutions. In my mind they never lost a playoff game by more than a bucket or two.

I'm sorry he had to deal with that ****.
