These are the memorable riffs that you simply HAVE to air guitar along with when you hear them...Just one rule...NO Stairway to Heaven! Here are some of my favorites just off the top of my head...

    Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid - Led Zeppelin
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
    My Sharona - The Knack
Start Me Up - Rolling Stones
Hazy Shade of Winter - Paul Simon
Live and Let Die - Guns 'n Roses...(sorry, Paul McCartney fans, the GnR version was better IMO)

I know the members of this BBS lean predominantly to the left, so I know most of you loathe this guy, but no song in the world makes me whip out the air guitar quicker than Nugent's Stranglehold

    MC Mark...

Man, I forgot all about Tom Petty! Best Petty riffs have to be "Mary Jane's Last Dance" and "Running Down a Dream"

I STILL can't believe I picked up a good copy of Tom Petty's Greatest Hits CD at a flea market for three bucks

Surf, excellent choice, but have you heard the live version of YYZ on Exit, Stage Left? Neal Pert does an eight minute drum solo that will blow you away!!

The end of Hotel California makes me play air guitar.

And how come nobody has mentioned Joe Satrioni or Eric Johnson yet??

Mark Knopfler's solo at the end of "Sultans of Swing" is reallllly cool. Also his solo at the end of "Lady Writer" kicks.

Don't forget "Cat Scratch Fever", also by the Nuge.

Good call on the King's X, Jeff. And "Unchained" has to be the best of em all. "D.O.A." is good, too.

How bout more recently, "My Own Worst Enemy", by Lit.

    "Paranoid", Black Sabbath

And, of course you can count on me to add a little 80s flavor to the proceedings:

    "Still of the Night", Whitesnake
    "Kickstart My Heart", Motley Crue
"Welcome to the Jungle", Guns -n- Roses
    "Talk Dirty to Me", Poison
"Rock You Like a Hurricane", Scorpions
