James Harden's 30 point game streak has reached 15. Current No 2 behind Kobe 16 since the ABA/NBA merger. http://bkref.com/tiny/Zz4A5
I'd like to see Harden reach 20+ games and simply demolish Kobe's streak. Harden has to be extraordinary even compared to the greatest of all time to get the respect he deserves.
Not trying to take anything away from Harden, but let's also give at least some credit to Morey and D'Antoni's offense giving and encouraging the freedom to do what he does.
It really is a combo of the 3. GM with the smarts and guts to push an analytically based offense. A coach willing to accept the numbers and adjust. A player with the absolute perfect skill set to execute it.
I see Harden easily shatter Kobe's streak. He can get off his step back three any time, at great efficiency.
No reason why Harden can’t sustain a measly minimum of 30 ppg for the rest of this season. Seriously, 30 is the new 20 for Harden now.
Austin agrees. That, and he probably is just looking to stay employed. But it's pretty good advertising nonetheless.
I'd bet his minutes were lower, usage was lower, TS% higher, and assists higher. the 35/5 streak is still going too, isn't it?
Also, how much does the new shot clock rule regarding offensive rebounding impact scoring? It seems that scores are up league wide, which is what I would imagine Harden Haters will point to to discredit James.
Current Harden is a better player than Kobe ever was. Kobe was a chucker more similar to AI or Carmelo. Put prime Shaq and Gasol on these Rockets and Harden wins 3-5 rings too.
