Can someone tell me if that should have been a travel? James has his right foot as his pivot foot and before he shoots, hops back with his left and shoots off both feet. Is this allowed?

He took a dribble and stepped back to shoot. That's not a travel.

"That's what I'm stocking tout. Like that Tilman! That Tilman."

I guarantee that's what he said. It's logical. Also, correct.

It's all about the gather. Until he's gathered the ball, he's still technically dribbling. Harden has mastered the timing of this, so that the push off of his left foot to execute the stepback occurs BEFORE he's gathered the ball and still has his dribble.

The timing on Harden's dribble moves are almost superhuman.

When he puts the ball down for the dribble, literally both feet and the ball are in the air. Then when he receives the ball he is already in the process of going backwards.

I want to say it's luck becuase it seems so damn hard to do, but his timing on gathers are so routine its clearly just an amazing skill.

I know he loves the game and constantly works to improve it, but the step up he's made this season is just ridiculous.
