Probably knows LeBron is gonna go HAM these last two weeks and thinks the media will.give him some of his MVP votes.

I agree with less minutes per game. This is a much more solid idea than just sitting out games...again that does not = more rest.

Also, Coach Pop has a completely different team....remember how they are portrayed in "Games of Zones"---like white walkers! -OLD & DEAD! Looks like the dead part is finally sticking this season for the Spurs.

Also, as great as Pop is, I like the idea of our front office and coaching staff knowing what is best for our team...not trying to copy the next guy. I also believe that we as fans should have more trust in the front office, coaching staff, and players. So many here with criticisms and what they THINK are all the right answers. Coaches and players are around each other every day, and know better than us who watch a 3 hour game every other day.

Being tired in 1 game (3 in the last 4 nights, and after a long road trip) is not the same as being worn down at the end of a season of literally carrying the entire team night in and night out. 1 or 2 games of rest is not even enough to catch up on needed rest if that were the case.

It is also hard to determine if last night was tired, ankle injury, or both...or just a less than normal game for Harden...they do happen.

On another note, I wish we could sign Kevin Willis for a day to "bump" BG, like he did Coach MD. Really cannot stand BG, and I hope he gets suspended for a game or more by the league.

No need to rest him, just limit his minutes.

It does cause me to wonder how much of it is to guarantee that MVP though. I think he's hungry for that. I'm not saying its a bad thing, just that it might be causing him to drive a little harder than he needs to.

You sit his ass anyway. He said this last season and he ran outta gas.

Tell the doc to make up an injury and make him sit

THats very possible but I expect he doesn’t go ham all game every game but rather treat games like Detroit’s last night and be less aggressive.

Here's my problem with 'resting players' at times like these.

There are ten games left, and that's a decent chunk of the season.

Up until this point, we have been on a historic roll, basically just knocking down anything which gets in our way.

This is about rhythm, chemistry, confidence, and being in a 'groove'.

I believe it is a BAD idea to disrupt that flow, that 'groove', for a significant stretch of the season just so you can 'rest' players.

You want to cut down a guy's minutes, fine, do that. But don't sit guys who would normally be playing, as though that will help them be BETTER in the playoffs.

You could tell in the game last night. When you sit a guy like Paul, for 'rest', you are telling the rest of the team (and they hear the message, either consciously or unconsciously, but they DO hear it) that 'this game doesn't really matter'. And we all saw the results. The Rox played like crap last night.

I for one do not want the team entering the playoffs playing their WORST basketball of the season.

How about they do it the other way - blast teams out of the water in the first half, and then ride your bench mostly in the second half?

Players will get less minutes, everyone contributes, and the games still MEAN something, to everyone, and the team can enter the post-season a little fresher AND on a GOOD roll instead of a SUCK roll.

I HATE the idea of shutting down the effort, the groove, the chemistry for the remainder of the season, just because 'we have the #1 seed locked up'.

    JUST SAY NO

Chemistry is so underrated around here.

At least, the Astros got it right.

    Go Rockets!

We should rest all our players against Pelicans honestly. Should give them a game so they can push OKC down to at least 6th spot and with their schedule, hopefully 7th spot.

THIS is why you traded for Chris Paul. Have CP pull him aside and tell him do what is best for the TEAM. Put your passion and love for the game below the goal of the team and plant your ass in a chair.

Once we clinch HC throughout the only time Harden, Paul, Gordon, and Capella should be on the court is when they walk to and from the locker room.

The starting lineup against Sacramento game should be
    Tariq Black
    Zhou Qi
    Joe Johnson
    Gerald Green
    RJ Hunter

    Bench can be Onuaku
    Brandan Wright
Ryno (so he can get his stroke - No defense or any contact)

Don't know the rules, but if you can bring more up from RGV bring up Hartenstein and anyone else you want to look at.
