He is at an all time high in his career shooting the 3 ball. He need to do what he does best and drive to the basket, ala prime D-Wade. This team is ****ed as constructed and only God himself can get us out of this hole.
Some delusional fool is going to come in and cherry pick some stats to tell you that Harden should keep jacking up 3's SOmething like if you exclude the first 3 games of the season or if you take only the month of December.....
Some nights he's feeling it, some nights he's way off. His first instinct should always be attacking the rim, though. When he's doing that, everything else usually falls into place.
He needs to lay off on those lazy iso plays, bounce passes, lazy defensive tendencies, fake defense and his amazing ability to ignore teammates when he feels like it but can find them when he has nowhere to go with 2-3 seconds left..
3's aren't the problem with harden. It's turnovers and defense. If he stop turning it over and plays D the majority OF EVERY game, then I'm fine with him shooting as many 3s as he wants.
I always prefer his driving, but I don't know if that's reasonable physically. I had the same complaint with TMac. It seems the physical wear and tear of attacking the basket makes go-to backcourt players take more and more jumpshots as their careers progress. Look at Westbrook - he's a bad 3 point shooter and he still jacks up a ton of them.
No...did you watch overtime? Just about all those points were created from Harden isolating and attacking the basket leading to open shots for others. That's when Harden's at his best. The iso's that should be banned are the ones that are just Harden dribbling at the top of the key with no sense of purpose, leading to a contested 3 or something of that nature.
I'm not trippin on Harden's 3's if his teammates feel engaged. His percentage will rise to the mean before season's end.
All the less reason for a PG to jack up low % three pointers instead of getting Durant the ball. Don't really understand your post??
He's not particularly shooting the ball well so far this season, he's had stretches when he's hot but for the most part he's been pretty mediocre with his long range jumpers hovering around 33-34%. When he said he wanted to be a 50-40-90% type player in the off season I was excited because I thought we was working to refine his jumper but so far this season his shot has looked worse than his first season here, although he has steadily improved his percentages from the beginning of the season but that was because he was shooting a vomit inducing 20%.
Actually, his 3pt shots attempted are right on his career avg - .405% of attempts... unfortunately, he's only hitting at a rate of .337 (vs career .366) The thing that concerns me is through 37 games, he has 6 dunks ('successful throwdowns') - 6!!!!! for a grand total of .010% of shots attempted (career avg is .038) http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hardeja01.html
