No he would not. Seriously all the old guys stuck in their ways. I do think MJ is the GOAT but no player would average 50 today. No fkn way. Never.

Wow. What an incredibly stupid thread. Man it's just not even close at all. Without stats, and just watching, it's abundantly clear (ABUNDANTLY!!!!) that Harden is not even close to Jordan. Jordan was the better scorer and the WAY better defender. Jordan had heart, James has zero heart. Jordan won MVP's because he was the best player where as Harden will never win one. Jordan won championships. Harden will never win a championship as the #1 option. I don't even know why I'm addressing this nonsense. Stupid idiots who don't remember the GOAT

    From http://ballislife.com/infographic-comparison-jordan-kobe-lebron-at-age-28/

    • Jordan’s Player Efficiency rating was first in the league every year until he was 28 except for his rookie year where he was ranked #2 (and injured 2nd year). LeBron is ranked #2 behind Jordan for Career PER
    • Jordan’s Win Shares was first in the league every year until he was 28 except for his rookie year where he was ranked #2 (and injured 2nd year)
    • Jordan’s was All-NBA 1st team every year until he was 28 except for his rookie year where he was ranked #2 (and injured 2nd year)
    • Jordan had MVP votes every year including 6 his rookie season

OP must think his 500HP dodge challenger is better than a 400HP porsche.

Also 12 megapixel is better than 10 megapixel.

I get that you want to compare players from different generations but some things don't show up in a stats box. Heck even looking at the final score of a game doesn't tell you the intensity or excitement of a particular game. Numbers cannot measure everything man.

No disrespect but you really under-evaluate and or under-estimate Curry. Dude is tough. There's many shots the defense literally tries to injure him and it still goes in. Curry is pretty damn strong even driving in. He takes the contact and makes a trick layup like a magician how many times? I hate GSW and Curry but you got to give Curry more credit and respect for his abilities.

Come on man - I agree that Curry is a special player, but that dude is not old school NBA tough. Those were the days when you could actually close line someone and it would be a common foul if it were even called at all. That play that Cleveland Isiah Thomas got thrown out for the other day happened every game in the days of the original Isiah Thomas....and I say that with no exaggeration. Go look at those old Van Gundy led Knick teams and tell me Curry could withstand deliberately hard fouls from guys like Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason, Larry Johnson, Patrick Ewing, etc. those types of bruisers are hardly in the league anymore but back then every team had multiple guys just like that.

Harden would get criticized if he shot as many FGA’s as Jordan (per game): per basketball-reference.com
    Jordan: FGA....Pts/game
    3rd yr: 27.8.......37.1
    4th yr: 24.4.......35.0
    5th yr: 22.2.......32.5
    6th yr: 24.0.......33.6
    7th yr: 22.4.......31.5
    8th yr: 22.7.......30.1
    9th yr: 25.7.......32.6
    ...........23.8.......26.9
    ...........22.6.......30.4
    ...........23.1.......29.6
    ...........23.1.......28.7
Not counting the 1st two years of MJ or the final years with Washington....Jordan had no less 22.2 FGA’s (5th yr)

The most Harden had was 21.2 FGA’s (this season). Excluding Thunder bench yrs.
    Harden:FGA..........Pts/game
    4th yr: 17.1............25.9
    5th yr: 16.5............25.4
    6th yr: 18.1............22.4
    7th yr: 19.7............29.0
    8th yr: 18.9............29.1
    9th yr: 21.2............32.3 (this season)

Today’s NBA has greater spacing (more teams)........DRtg’s may reflect such spacing by being higher.

I will just say Im grateful Harden is a Rocket

    I'm lazy.

Do your number comparison take into account current NBA pace vs pace when Jordan was in his prime?
