Younger more talented players turn out to be 'useless' if they shoot sub 30 from 3....MCW has as much to offer as just about anyone who can't shoot. And he doesn't seem to fit the system... why would paying more for a younger more talented MCW be worth it? Better off getting the 40% Ennis and giving an older, talented player a shot? If they turn out to be useless, c'est la vie?

(Also, you might be a bit unfair - Clark, Hartenstein are young guys playing in the rotation. Caboclo was given a shot. Edwards bought as a draft pick. Plenty of these younger guys he has given a chance to - you don't have to pay 4mill a year to see if a talented individual is going to work out...)

If Clark, Hartenstein were so great, you would not have a depleted bench. Clark is the only one really turning into something but he has no virtual Offense other than the occasional 3 pter. Hartenstein is useful yes but he is only going to play 10-15 minutes a night and he is scoring 2-4 pts really.

It's always been that way. Players come and go, the more useful ones stay a tad longer. They'll be used and be discarded for better talents.

They banked on Melo, Ego and GGreen to produce sustainable Offense for the 2nd unit, and fill the other spots with 1 way defensive players only.

Well, they got it wrong because those dudes are not producing consistently right now and the great Melo is gone.

It puts more pressure on Harden and Paul to get the Offense going.

For this reason, it’s far more apt to compare Ennis’ year to Ariza’s 2017-18 season, as the roles and roster are largely the same.

Since Ennis dealt with injuries to start the year, he is currently averaging 8 fewer minutes than Ariza did last season. However, Ennis’ per-36-minute statistics of 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist on 40 percent from three and 48 percent from the field are basically a wash with Ariza’s per-minute production a year earlier, only they’re slightly more efficient.
