Is just me or does Jalen Rose remind you Mobley? Maybe its just the left hand thats making making look twice, but man, I thought I WAS watching Mobes a few time this series.

They both float around just inside the three point arc and have that quick shot over their defender, along with the quick step to the hoop (Cat's is quicker!).

I'm not saying Cat is AS GOOD as Rose right now, but for mine the resemblance is uncanny.

From that aspect, yes they are very similar. I just don't think Cuttino will ever eclipse Jalen simply because isn't as physically gifted. Rose is a 6'8 player with the ability to play 3 positions, post up, shoot over bigger defenders, etc. For the most part, Cuttino and Jalen are similar, but I just don't think Cuttino will ever get to Rose status because of his lack of size and versatility.

Well I don't like comparing people who have a definite advantage or diosadvantage due tu physical boundries(as much as that is a part of everyone's life), but ... that being said, I agree they are very, very similiar in their game. Uncanny sometimes.

I see the main difference between the two as how they approach their game.

Rose is focused. He gets banged and bumped, gets a poor call on him, misses a couple of "wide-opens" or gets a poor pass that breaks up his play. He grimaces and groans, gives a deadpan look at the ref or p-layers and goes on. Gets his game focused and goes back to work.

If Cuttino has the same things happen to him he is absolutely gone for the quarter if not the game. He is a more fun player (that is looks like he has fun while playing) it seems, and for some observers that may translate into him being less focused or less serious about his craft. I don't know. I hope not. But, the underlining thing is his complete loss of game after one or two bumps and rubs, a couple misses and groans, one or two poor fouls called on him, or a missed opportunity followed by another poor pass. All these things seem to unravel him. I hope this is a maturity thing that he will outgrow, but man, he's been here in the league long enough to shoulder some of that stuff. Especially if he is demanding the big dollars now.

I see some comparisons between the two, but as far as their games are concerned, the only thing I see is that left hand! Rose plays a different style than Cuttino. He is more controlled and more adept at getting teammates involved. I am by no means knocking Cuttino, I love his game. But Rose is further along on the maturity scale.

I would love to have Rose in Houston!

Who wouldn't HOOP-T? I think in the crop of free agents this summer, Jalen Rose will be mentioned in the same breath as Hill and Duncan.

As far as the Rose/Mobley comparison, don't get me wrong, I'm not equating ability - there are vast differences.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a Mobley supporter. I love his game & his heart.
However at this point there is no comparison. Rose is a player you can build a team around, which is what Indiana is planning on doing.
Mobley still looks like a complementatry player, although I think he can become an all-star caliber player.
I would love Mobley to emerge as a new Jalen Rose, but Jalen is in a class above right now.

Jalen is more talented right now, but he has been in the league much longer than Cuttino. I still dont really know who I would want right now becuz it took Rose 6 years to emerge as a star... and while Cuttino is not a star yet, he is much closer than Rose was at this stage in their career.

Aww, see now you are starting to like Lefties. Lefties own the world, and don't forget it. The more lefties on your team, the better.

See, Smeg's got the idea. Ned is perfect. Imagine this roster-

C-Ned Flanders: He's perfect, and a cartoon, so in real life we can make him a beefy 7'2''. Since he's perfect, he'll never tire or get injured. Can you say Shaq answer?

PF-Raef Lafrenz: He's got range, and he's a lefty, what more do you want from him?

    SF-Lamar Odom: Another awesome lefty.

SG-Cuttino Mobley: See the pattern? Lefties make great players.

PG-Jalen Rose: Yep, him, Mobes, and Odom can share the PG spot. Since they're left handed, they're all awesome.

    Bench:
Toni Kukoc: He hit the shot, not Quitten.
Jerome Moiso: Up and coming lefty.
Damon Stoudamire: The team smacker, remember he said AJ would never lead a team to the Finals [IMG]
Anthony Mason: Another guy with handles.
David Robinson: Yep, the Admiral, more veteran influence.
Chris Mullin: He hit a shot in the Finals!!
Rodney Rogers: More proof, the 1-2 in the 6th man voting are both lefties.

Yeah, he's not good enough. Ned is gonna dominate up front, so we need versatile big men with shooting range. Robinson is just for veteran influence. Moiso can play SF. So can Kukoc, Mason, and Rogers. We need guys who don't hog the ball like Mobley on this team. Maybe Othella can watch the Leftorium for Ned while Ned is playing.

Also, only 1 slow one-dimensional player is allowed. Mullin already has that job.
