Does this mean Codman will stop saying "Young Footwork" every other month now, or will he say it more, because Nets?

Luv ya Codman, but the Okafor infatuation, not so much.

Looks like Nets pulled this trade today due to flexibility to trade him again at deadline.

fwiw: assuming Nets didn't make this trade using cap space, but rather the matching salary exception, this trade happens on the deadline for which Nets can re-trade Okafor on the Trade Deadline, with aggregation.

The Trade Deadline is Feb 8th...this is 2 months prior

CBA Rule: is that a player traded via aggregation (appears Okafor was aggregated with Stuaskus) cannot be traded again for two months, except by himself without aggregating him in a larger deal.

For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the trade aggregates the player's salary with the salaries of other players. However, the team is free to trade the player immediately, either by himself or without aggregating his salary with other salaries. This restriction applies only to players who were acquired using an exception (and not cap room). (Also see question number 90.)

Much of this is true, but he has one last small chance at turning himself around and the Nets are now a good organization. They are very progressive in terms of playing style and collecting data and have placed a huge focus on internal development (since they're out of the draft). Good coaching and good management = if Okafor is willing, he can develop. He needs a 3pt shot and to learn team defense. Unlikely, but it's a risk worth taking for the Nets. No point having Booker.

Okafor destroys any offense or defense the Sixers want to run. He doesn’t defend well, is slow and clogs the lane offensively. He is a dinosaur and Sixers ownership should have let Hinke pick Porzingas like he wanted.

Porzingas, Embid, Simmons, Fultz, Covington, Saric and Reddick would have been something.

I like this trade for both teams, but more for BKN because they can take a chance at a former 3rd pick. They need to "increase their risk profile" when they don't have many assets.

Solid trade for the nets but not a great return for Philly. Although IDK what else they could have gotten.

Coach Atkinson's biggest strength is player development.

He's a horrible fit for the modern NBA. He's a strictly post up player on offense but isn't good enough that you can build around him (which tbh is why post play is dying- guys simply aren't as good at it and it's much easier and efficient to run and shoot the three ball)

somewhat true. either way hed be better off on a team that plays at a much slower pace. he could atleast fit better there.not to mention his confidence has to be at his lowest point. miami, utah, memphis etc..not every team utilizes the pace and space style of play
