Ja Rule And Fyre Festival Slapped With $100 Million Lawsuit For Multiple Counts Of Fraud

Ja Rule not only taking the D up his butt physically, but now financially.

 

Everyone will be getting refunds so I don't think they can be sued for that much more than that.

 

Find Ja Rule so I can make sense of all this!

****ing Channing Frye. I thought he was a cool dude, but then he goes and pulls this ****. Will definitely be a hit to his legacy, even if he does lead his team to a finals win over Javale McGee's Warriors.

 

I guess he wasn't "real" after all.

 

Why would anyone attend an event sponsored and promoted by Ja freakin Rule. Then again... maybe Dave Chappelle was right........

The organizers claim they're getting the refund, they also claim they're putting the festival on next year. And that all attendees from this year will be given VIP passes for next year.

They also claimed that you could book a villa or a yacht and that you would be living a luxurious life of food art music and culture and that you will fly on private jets and swim with pigs (just be sure to add more money to your festival wristband, because there's no ATMs or public water or any infrastructure on the island for that matter, with feral dogs and shark infested waters.)

Did you buy tickets to the event by chance? Because of you believe any of the above is or was ever going to happen....

they are setting themselves up for more failure and future lawsuits

I actually don't think it was fraud or false advertisement in the beginning. I think the organizers planned to deliver what they promised, but realized too late in the game that they couldn't pull it off. Once they realized they were over their heads, they just had to keep up the charade and hope for the best.

This NY Magazine piece pretty much spells it out. Not shockingly, it seems like it was being run by a bunch of overgrown frat boys who were looking to become, in the words of one marketing exec with the festival "legends," without any real idea of how to do what they were trying to do.

A bunch of spoiled, silver-spoon rich kids got ripped off. Boo-hoo.

 

That alone makes all the stories so much funnier when I read them....

 

Those are the worst kind of people to rip off because they usually have lawyers on speed dial.

 

Gene-rule (pun intendeddd) I follow; don't pay for / go to events endorsed by someone that just got out of jail.
