Whats up with this Aldon Smith Bullsht GTFO Smith lovers. JJ and Aldon are tied after today and yet people salivate over Aldon
im hoping SF wins but aldon gets no sacks. even if he does oh well. its gonna take 2 monster games for jj to get the sack record.. what hes done already, no one in the nfl has ever done. 15+ sacks/15 PDs
Likely won't get it unless week 17 is an actual game. The Vikings are barely going to pass the ball next week as they run Peterson 50 times.
IMO, Watt and Miller play on a different level than Aldon Smith, who is a one-trick pony. Don't be surprised if Smith doesn't get a sack (or more than one) tonight because Brady is very good at getting rid of the ball.
^^^^ let me retract my statement, for some reason i thought the sack record was 25... strahan has the record at 22.5.. wow jj could get there... EFFF aldon smith.. lets go jj..
I love JJ. I was disappointed when Aldon had five sacks in one game and took the lead. But Aldon is a terrific player. More than likely, he will get at least a sack. And I am okay with that if it helps San Francisco beat the Patriots.
JJ gets to play against that Indy OL one more time. Even if it's a meaningless game, he'll still get snaps. And again even if it's a meaningless game, if he's within reach of the lead or record you know he'll play hard and the other DL will play hard to help him get there.
Smith is a one trick pony that is benefiting from the other Smith on his team gobbling up double teams. Watt doesn't play with another guy in the front 7 that demands that type of respect. Not to mention the rest of Aldon's stats are completely unimpressive. That said, dude gets his sacks and we're talking about sacks.
The coaches will probably consider it a big deal too. They wont put Watt at risk by giving him >70% of the snaps but they'll certainly give him the opportunity if it's there in week 17.
It's taking Watt having one of the best seasons for a DL in NFL history for the Texans to have a consistent pass rush. I feel Watt is going to have to continue to play at all-world level for Texans to have a chance with Denver or New England.
