OK I still have not seen Transformers but I heard that this really cool untitled trailer came out before the movie. I was doing some surfing and checked at www.aintitcool.com to find out more about it. As it turns out there is this huge mystery / puzzle surrounding this movie, and what exactly its about. Below is the link to the trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/ Here is a link to one of the movie sites: http://www.1-18-08.com According to a letter Abrams wrote to aintitcool there are several sites created for this movie that have not been discovered yet. This is a link to the letter he wrote them (which also may be laden with clues) http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33261 Some of the readers on that site were using clues found in the trailer and the pictures on the 1-18-08 site to come up with a few intriguing hypotheses as to what the clues and hints could mean. The more I started looking into it the more intrigued I became. I know some of you on here like puzzles and mysteries so I brought this over here to see if the power of clutchfans can delve deep into the mystery of this movie and come up with some answers. Either way the trailer look BAD@SS and this marketing technique is genius. I personally can't wait for 1/18/08.

A couple of things occur to me about this. Wasn't J.J. Abrams working on a Star Trek movie? If this is about Cthulu I really hope he isn't turning Cthulu into a monster action movie when H.P. Lovecraft was primarily about psychological terror and in many of his stories the monsters are never seen first hand. The weather looks really good for New York in January.
When I was reading through yahoo movies a long time ago I read of a project ongoing for a KING KONG VS. GODZILLA movie. I'm banking on this one. I could have sworn I heard two different sounds in the trailer.
A couple things to remember about this movie: 1) Paramount does not own the rights to Godzilla. I belive Sony owned them up until 2003, when they returned to being owned by Toho Co. 2) The budget for this movie is only 30 mil. I'm guessing it is something new, not Godzilla, King Kong, Donkey Kong, Voltron, etc.
Agreed. This ranks up there with the billboards that don't tell you anything except something like "She just got Dumped" as an ad for The Dump. The "something is coming" campaigns don't interest me and it's really amazing how many people dive into this stuff. If I at least know what it is, I might be interested.
After seeing the trailer, I'm definitely interested in seeing the movie. That said, I'm not going to go out of my way to try to find out what it's about.
