Wood with no Wil means nothing comes of it.

That's too bad. Hope Williams goes somewhere where he can make a team. He has the skills to do it. Does this make the rumored Chuck Hayes signing more likely?

I do like Christian Wood's potential, but he's still very raw. Wouldn't mind him playing for the Vipers.

hope he is wrong. Wood does not look worthy of a roster spot while Williams did. Hope they both get invites to camp.

Chuck Hayes makes so much sense. Good locker room guy that is solid in spot minutes. You will never lose a game because of Chuck. We will also have the added bonus of have hayesfan back.

I said it in another thread, but I think Alan Williams would be best served by hooking on with a really bad team with no post scorers.

His best skill by far is half court post offense, and there's absolutely no way this team would run the offense through him on the block, even if he gets into the rotation.

Eliminate his post scoring and passing from the equation and he becomes a poor man's Tarik Black. Williams needs the ball in his hands to shine.

Once he established himself as a legit NBA option in the post, he could then get a sniff at a role with a better team.

I don't see why we cant just stash Williams on the end of the Roster. It's not like Wood or Williams will even play much this year.

No need for Wood. He is far from being ready for the NBA. Williams is closer to making it to the league than him. Hope the Chuckwagon is ready.

We need someone who can rebound. We need Bigger Alan Williams in Dorsey's spot. Bigger Al has other skills: FT shooting; posting up, sealing, and actually catching an entry pass; scoring with good footwork and ambidextrous, soft hands; passing the ball; defending (though he will need to improve on the not fouling part). He has upside. Why in the world would we not sign him? Can we not afford to sign this undrafted free agent?

If you are counting on Chuck Hayes to win a championship NOW for your franchise, you may as well fire your GM today.

Signed Jason Terry LOL. And I'm not counting on Chuck Hayes to win a championship genius, but you need solid veterans placed around Howard, Harden and Lawson.

Neither Wood or Williams have roles on current team. Both are Vipers bound at best, and if either can show the necessary improvement (Wood with strength, Williams on D) later in the year, they may have a call up shot because of injury.

Rockets need guys who can produce now. There are already too many raw guys on the active 15. Rockets need some better shooters to round out this team.

Dekker, Harrell and Capela still need to develop roles and will be priority for the Rockets.

    Lawson/Bev
    Harden/Thornton/KJ
    Ariza/Brewer/Dekker
    D-Mo/TJ/Harrell
    Dwight/Capela

The last 2 guys will be specialists or not see any time at all. I would rather they be specialists if Rockets want to continue to contend. Bring back Terry for vet min perhaps.

In typical Morey fashion, no matter how great his greatest offseason move is, Morey always makes one questionable move. Livingston, Tarik Black, and now Williams this year. Then again, all of those moves were third string or worse expected effectiveness.

There's only room for one vastly undersized center, and it looks like that will be Chuck Hayes. His intangibles win here. Basketball IQ, proven plus defense, veteran insight - These are more needed than the low ceiling of Williams. In this sense, it's no wonder Woods was selected. Much higher ceiling and rare skill set for a 7-footer.

Woods needs a great big man teacher. Who better than the trio of McHale, CD and Hakeem? I imagine Hayes will be the TA in low post defense.

Williams seems like a Spurs guy. Dajuan Blair with knees.

I like Christian Wood, but Williams was clearly and obviously the better player. This is really disappointing.
