I've come to HATE "playoff intensity" talk, as if Rox won't turn it up, too

I have GROWN TO HATE the "I have grown to hate" threads.

 

@heypartner you're the real MVP man. All season long you've just about single-handedly brought top-notch analysis back to the Clutch BBS. Amazing stuff.

 

Don't you guys know, that the Rockets is the only team that doesn't turn it up in the playoffs? Rockets players are just kinda 'meh' come playoff time. Ask the Clippers.

 

I don't think the naysayers disagree that this is the type of all around effort needed to win in the playoffs HP, and the rockets are capable of it, this was a great win. It's the need for consistent replicability that causes the naysaying.

But here is to hoping man. this was a great playoff style win, no doubt.

It is the referee's playoff intensity that screws us. So intense that they swallow their whistle and call the game totally different than the regular season.

Since three point shooting gives you more points per shot than long 2's, it encourages laziness, which is revealed to the world come playoff time.

Harden just plays at a different speed when playoff time comes. You can see him bring it out in big games such as last night. Got that extra gear on reserve homie.

 

Everything will slow down in the playoffs. HP's fast pace posting won't work. First round exit for sure. Jump shooting posters can't win championships.

 

This thread forgets that Cleveland had no center or rebounding force like Love - where the Rockets struggles is against Memphis, Utah and other teams that have a proper rim protecting big.

Well some team should do turn it up. And some teams don't. Happens pretty frequently. See 2011 Mavs. See 96 Rockets. Occasionally 1st round upsets. Etc.

We don't know if the Rockets will turn it up or not.

Only time will tell. Feel better about this team than most of the past one season because they at least have a very clear identity that they will stick to irregardless. And will keep them in games

 

heyp needs to look down at that jersey on his chest and remember that it says Clutch City and hit those keys with authority!

 

I still say Rockets are too Jekyll and Hyde. And, I don't think they can control it like they want to. That is why the playoff conversation around them is dismissive. We just got done hearing about how they hadn't beaten anyone really good in a while. And, they beat Cleveland and we're all better now? My main concern continues to be consistency with this team. We know they can play well at times. We know they can beat up on subpar teams. Can they play well consistently across a playoff series or will they f__k it up? We will see.
