It's pretty crazy that James has actually become the best player in basketball

It seems like every time Presti thinks it's in the past it comes back worse!

Breaking down this whole post is so mind blowingly absurd. Starting with this one. 38.8 is such a crazy number to average in the association. Dudes average that in minutes per game.
Another crazy number. One that Jordan went out of his mind and did back in his 3rd year as a pro. Mind blowing.
This is the craziest one to me and can do nothing but agree that its absolutely true. I mean, WTF? These are video game numbers and they are attainable for one bearded human being.

If you look at the last 5 years, you can argue that he has been the best player in the world over that span.

He has one MVP award, two times finished second in the MVP voting and will win the MVP this season or at worst finish second.

He also has averaged 30/8/6 over the last 5 seasons.

If he wins a title, he will likely be recognized as the best player in the world for a half decade or more of time.

Even the narrative about his defense has slowly been eroding.

It dawned on me on 2k19. He is the seconded highest player on the games after a legacy lebron rating when we all know lebron shouldn't be rates higher...I said wow to my brother...like even 2k knows nobody is better then harden. Mans a 97 on there. The Greek freaks only a 94. Harden is the only 97 with a bs LBJ at 98 when he sucked this year

Fun fact. Since 2013-2014 when Harden was traded to Houston, he's 1st among ALL NBA players in Win Shares with 96.8 WS.

    Harden 96.8
    LeBron 92.5
    KD 89.1
    Steph 87.5
    CP3 80.0
    AD 71.7
    Russ 69.2
    DJ 69.1
    Lillard 67.2
    Butler 63.7

I can't think of the last draft class that produced two players who were the best players in the world statistically since 2009, while Nash and Iverson won out of the '96 class, neither were the best player on earth at the time, same thing goes for Barkley and arguably Hakeem (postseason GOAT, but Robinson arguably had the best season ever to not result in an MVP award in 1993-94).

I thought I remember putting Lebron on this post but the line "bring it on" was meant to be Lebron and my thought was him being the best in the world.
During my search I also found this

I wonder if Harden / MDA + coaching staff / Morey + FO are all cognizant of this.

I haven't looked at other draft classes yet but 2009's "Start 5 in their Primes" is pretty damn good:

    Griffin
    Harden
    Derozan
    Curry
    Jrue Holiday

    6th man: Jeff Teague

Respect to James Harden. We should look for these traits in players and humans in general for finding ways to succeed, when odds as in this case (athleticism) are against you.

    1.) hard working
2.) love for what you do
    3.) intelligence

Harden fits these 3 very well. Another would be durablitity.

I'm sure they all know. This season is historic.

Fun fact: MJ had a losing season that year. Harden is like 12 games over 500.

Just wait for them to lose a game all the haters will come back or maybe the same people praising him will turn on him. This board has manic depressive disorder. Its either he is the GOAT or he is fraud.

Max Kellerman just said it's possible for Harden to be best player in the league at the end of the year.

James Harden affects winning more than any player drafted last 15 years.

    Teammates. Don't matter.
    Teammates' health. Doesn't matter.
    Coaching. Doesn't matter.

Dude is averaging 53 Wins per season in the West for almost a decade with zero other All-Star teammates.
