It's pretty crazy that James has actually become the best player in basketball

It just really dawned on me, especially watching the great LeBron James fall down these last few weeks. James Harden has really hit the apex of the NBA. Who would've thought when he was traded to Houston, this sixth man of the year would reach MJish levels of scoring dominance? To progress as much as he has over his career is really unprecedented.

All he has to do now is bring home the chip. And as up-and-down as the Rockets season has been, with how unstable the rest of the league looks right now...this really feels like it could be the year.

I guess all that's left to do is #RunAsOne, right?

At this point, I wouldn’t even trade James Harden for Thon Maker!

James has worked for everything he has...an asthmatic chubby kid has ascended to the pinnacle of one of the most physically demanding sports in the world.

I know we all say this, but seriously—every single year he adds a new dimension to his game...watching him evolve as a player has been amazing.

All we need is the Championship, and there’s no player I’d rather have lead us there than James Harden.

If he averages 38.8 for the remaining 19 games, he’ll surpass Jordan’s 37.1 ppg average in 1986. Not bad and within reach!

it truly is amazing...when we traded for him, I thought he was gonna average 20-22, 5, and 5 his 1st year here and the Rockets would win 37 games ...I though at the peak of his career he could average around 25, 5, and 7 or something like that...he pretty much did that his 1st season with the squad, and has only continued to get better

to sit back and think at the time of that trade that years later he would be averaging a whopping 37, 7, and 8 and could’ve been a 3x MVP winner currently working on his 4th is something I never could’ve imagined

I was busy trying to talk myself into enjoying a whole year of Lin, Parsons, Asik, and Lamb and then a blessing fell right into our laps...thank u Presti, thank u so much

I’m guilty of taking his greatness for granted, so it’s great that there are threads like this that kind of pull me back to see just how crazy his journey has been.

Sam Presti, for all his skill in drafting, has lost more talent than some teams have had in their history.

You win some you lose some Morey hasn't exactly kept all the talent he has had like Kawhi for example.

Presti is still a top 5 GM as far as I'm concerned. Morey's still better but Presti ain't bad lol.

What was your favorite Kawhi as a Rocket moment?

I meant he could have had Kawhi he went with baby Melo. I was really invested in the draft at the time as the Rox had their first lotto pick since Rudy Gay and all draft boards had Kawhi going to the Rox. It was a no brainer pick that Morey messed up.

To top that off he didnt even keep baby Melo around, that was a mistake on top of a mistake. During Morris' time we had a glut of quality PFs like Morris, Scola, Patterson and Landry but after that we dumped all these PFs resulting in overpaying Scrubberson.

    James is the man.

Now, let's bring home the hardware.

He needs a lot more help to get to that level imo. A tall, long swingman, another defensive 4/5 who can rebound and another shooter/ perimeter defender are needed. EG is good, CP is great but we need more depth.

I also think he's the best player in the NBA based on the past 2 seasons. He has this team in the hunt for one of the best records in a very tough Western Conference despite long term injuries to his most valuable teammates. For instance, if you switched Lebron and Harden, the Lakers would probably be in the 3rd seed right now and the Rockets would be sitting at 11 or worse.

We keep saying it, but it's all about the playoffs. If he can do this in the playoffs he will cement his legacy across the league. The truly greatest players of all time found a way to keep dominating and even elevate in the playoffs. They found a way to lead their teams to the Finals, at least once or twice despite tough odds and circumstances. That's what he has to do at this point. I'm sure he knows it. Everyone does.

It's so nice to have a player in that discussion. We haven't had that since Dream was here. Dream was the best player in the NBA the 2 years we won it all so I still have hope that Harden can pull off the miracle. We'll see.

Bullsh*t! He's holding the Rockets back! I mean they won one game in Golden State without him!!! I don't care that Chris Paul says they need Harden!!!!! THEY WON WITHOUT HIM!!!!
