    What a mess.

Lukewarm announcement of the open of the games by the queen. She did not look happy to host the games at all.

The opening ceremony is a joke.

The Japanese team were led out of the stadium during the opening ceremony.

Multiple misplacement of the national flags, and the falling of the US national flag.

Multiple occasions of blatant cheating of the host nation.

Rows and rows of empty seats.

    Terrible food.

Don't forget the terrorist attack, the clearly audible jeering against the USA, open and unchecked bribery of Olympic Committee officials, that judo chick from the host country getting in an argument with her boyfriend and them both jumping out of a building, the dreadful behavior of the U.S. track relay team.

as an avid fan, who's also attended several summer games in person, i can say without a doubt that the OP is unfortunately right.

and the worst thing is, having visited rio before, i have a feeling A_3PO is going to be right as well.

Baaaaaaaad. GB has bands like Muse, Coldplay, singers like Elton John and they come up with garbage. Emeli Sande was great though.
